FRETARO Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

FRETARO helps guitarists get the sound of their favorite recordings with the gear they already own. We collect as little as possible: no account, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics tools.

Who is responsible

FRETARO is published by Jean-Bastien Lopez, 12 Square du Grand Islot, 35170 Bruz, France. Contact: lopezjeanbastien@gmail.com.

What stays on your iPhone

What is sent to our server, and why

Our server keeps only the usage counters attached to the anonymous identifier, and a cache of public information about gear models and recordings (controls of a model, gear documented for a song). This cache contains nothing about you.

Service providers

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Links to merchants

FRETARO may suggest gear with links to merchants (such as Thomann, Guitar Center or Andertons). Some links may be affiliate links: FRETARO may then earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and the app says so next to the link. When you open a merchant's website, that website's own privacy policy applies. FRETARO sends no personal information to merchants.

How long we keep data

Usage counters are kept for the current and previous months, then become useless and are overwritten. You can erase them at any time from the app. Server technical logs (request type, result, duration, without your identifier) are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU, the UK and California), you have the right to access, correct or delete your data and to object to its processing. Because FRETARO does not know who you are, the simplest way is Settings → Delete all my data. For any request, write to lopezjeanbastien@gmail.com. In the EU you may also contact your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Children

FRETARO is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change, with a new effective date.
